ZINES

Zines are handmade magazines with a long, rich history. They’re inexpensive, easy to make, and can be a useful project for adults and children alike. In use before the 1920s, zines are being created and sold or traded worldwide today!

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

Zine Make & Take | TBA Richmond, Lexington, Rowan Co.
I’m gearing up for the Kentucky Fried Zine Fest next month and I’m dragging you all with me! Come play with pen and paper. No writing, drawing, or zine skill required. Paper provided, bring a pen and a pair of scissors if you have them. Setting up locations in the cities above, so drop me a note if you’d like to host me for an evening workshop! Looking for libraries, storefronts, makers spaces, or an art-friendly cafe.

KENTUCKY FRIED ZINE FEST is at the UK School of Art & Visual Studies this year on Saturday, September 29th. If you would like to make a zine with me, I’m going to have space on my table for my students. If you have never been to a zine fest, you are in for a treat. I am also running the collaborative zine – ITEM – so come play with me there, too!

Look forward to seeing you soon!
– Ria
