NaNoWriMo Resources

I can hear it now. Nano…what?

NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month.

I’m writing a novel…a whole one…50,000 words.

I start on November 1st, in 3 days.

…and I am going to be finished with it by November 30th.

No, I’m not crazy, and there are several thousand other people doing it too. Chances are you may know someone else who is doing it and not know it. Regardless, PASS IT ALONG!

Because I can. I’m doing it for me. I know I can do it so it isn’t a matter of proving ti to myself really. (note I am being positive hehe) I want to make my writing a practice and it takes 30 days to make a habit. So I figure if I write 1700 words a day, what is required to stay on target with my NaNoWriMo, it will help me keep doing it.

Yes. :)

For those about to write, I post these resources with a salute. These are also posted on the NaNoWriMo forums here.

We had our first meeting for this area on Friday night last week and had an absolute blast. There were a few things I had mentioned in our meeting that I wanted to share with everyone. Notes below are in italics…

If you like chant, Enigma or Dead Can Dance, their ???????Unearthed??????? album (available on All of mp3 link below) is incredible.

I think game soundtracks are one of the greatest hidden resources. Most people use movie soundtracks but what about all those great games? The MMORPG (massive multiplayer online roleplay games) have huge soundtracks with some incredibly emotionally driven music. Combat, romance, horror, travel and exploration…all themes are touched on in the games.

While researching this I was ecstatic to find that they were all available via through the All of mp3 site (link below). Take a minute to listen to the samples (low quality), trust me, you won????????t be disappointed. This is my FAVORITE writing music???????

Myst soundtrack

Myst II: Riven soundtrack
