Disclaimer: This is not under any circumstances meant as an offense to Roman Catholics. My beloved other half is a devout Traditionalist Roman Catholic and I often attend and enjoy mass with him with an open heart to God. This is however meant as a reminder to the power of words and that proofreading should never be overlooked.
Something was recently brought to my attention. It is apparent that the Traditional Roman Catholic Network, whose motto is “An Independent, Balanced Voice of Traditional Roman Catholicism;
Avoiding Heresy on the Left and Schism on the Right”, is in dire need of a new editor.
One of their FAQs, last updated (according to their site) on the 11th of this month, only nine days ago, is an Index Auctorum Prohibitorum or “List of Prohibited Authors”. In the first section labeled “Modernist Authors Since the Time of Vatican II” they have a list. Twelfth on their list is this name:
- “Joseph Ratzinger, previously under suspicion of heresy by the Holy Office”
Um, forgive me if I am wrong but…isn’t he the current Pope? How does that work? :::shakes her head:::
Needless to say, if you are looking for a job and have editorial experience, you might want to apply for a job with them soon…
