Swiper No Swiping…

Ok, answer me this…

Big HUGE corporation. Band. Big HUGE corporation with enough money to redesign the world with their own private design team. Band. Big HUGE corporation steals band’s design.

Ummm … huh?

Found this posted on a blog I track and had to research it. Nike decided to pilfer art from a band that is pretty much on the other end of the spectrum as far as what it stands for.

Once again the counter-culture is being used to sell and market that which it disdains to it’s children. All these young skateboarders (who most hadn’t even been born when the band broke up) who look up to Minor Threat and thier record label as heros are going to be duped. Duped into thinking that they are somehow being rebelious and going against the grain. And all they are doing to lapping up this corn-fed homoginized wannabe counter-culture fashion. Thats all it is fashion and no substance. Uuugghh! I could go ona dn on about how much I loath this, but I shall leave that for another time
