A link to French Toast Girl’s Everyday in May challenge came across the Everyday Matters group list today. Since the new year, I have been challenging myself to be creative daily, whether in a small way or large scale, so this fit right in with what I’ve been wanting to do. I have decided to “up the ante” though, so-to-speak, and have challenged myself to create in ONE format on ONE theme the entire month.
I will be posting a special project here daily inspired by an old artist’s exercise that I’d found in a book years ago. My business name being The Renaissance Chameleon, I will be posting one piece of chameleon art each day for the entire month of May…on an inchie.
Yup, everyday you will see a different interpretation of a chameleon on an inchie.
Why? Because it forces my focus off center. It forces me to crop my view of the world just a little bit each day, like peering through a small hole in the wall to look at a giant mural, there is only one aspect visible at a time but it is all part of the same whole.
And to make it even MORE difficult, since French Toast Girl’s challenge included writing as well, I will be writing (read attempting to write) a haiku or poem each day, relating to chameleons or the art, to go along with it. Should be interesting to say the least. LOL So keep your eyes here for the entire month of May!
